Reason, Passions, and Affections in the Puritans?

My good friend Graham Beynon has written an excellent piece of work on reason, passions, and affections in the works of Isaac Watts. He’s included some soundings in puritan thought on these issues too, but is wondering if there is more to look at on that. So does anyone know of either:
1) Primary sources where puritans discuss reason, passions, affections? NOT Jonathan Edwards please!
2. Secondary sources which discuss puritan views on these subjects?
Graham, I know, will be very grateful for any leads! Let me know if you have any…
